Loran Scholars Foundation –  AVAILABLE

Deadline:  October 15, 2026, before 12:00PM (Eastern Time)

The Loran Award supports promising youth from Canada who show strength if character and a commitment to service in their communities, challenging them to fully realize their leadership potential. In 2026-27 the Loran Scholars Foundations will offer up to 160 financial awards funding studies on Canadian campuses.

Eligibility: Graduating from High School in 2027, Present a minimum cumulative average of 88%, Hold Canadian Citizenship or permanent resident status and born between Jan 1/05 and Sept 1/11.

University of Toronto National Book Award – AVAILABLE

Deadline:  October 9, 2026
For a student beginning university at ANY university.  This is a non-monetary award and student must be nominated by NBCHS staff.

Scholarships that are not available at this time:

Gabriel Dumont Foundation Scholarships  - NOT AVAILABLE

Deadline: Oct 1, 2025

A variety of scholarships are available.  Apply online.

John Evans Champion Award  – NOT AVAILABLE

Deadline: October 15th, 2023

A $5,000 award for a woman entering an accredited engineering program.  It is NOT based on academic achievement.  It may also include a potential summer engineering work placement opportunity with Fortis Inc. after your second or third year of study.  Visit the website for further information.

TD Scholarships for Community Leadership – NOT AVAILABLE

Deadline:  November  13th, 2024

4 years of full tuition for up to $70,000.  Offers of summer employment.  Why not apply?   The key criterion is outstanding community leadership.  You must also have a minimum average of 75%.
